MISSION STATEMENT Since 1973, the Armstrong-Indiana Drug and Alcohol Commission, Inc. has been the designated Single County Authority (SCA) for drug and alcohol services in Armstrong and Indiana Counties. As such, the Commission receives, administers and allocates state and federal drug and alcohol funds targeted for this two county area. The Armstrong-Indiana Drug and Alcohol Commission, Inc. believes that all county residents with an alcohol or other drug problem are individuals with unique needs that must be addressed in the most appropriate manner. The Commission is dedicated to ensuring that all county residents who have suspected substance abuse problems receive an assessment and referral in to the most appropriate level of care. In addition, the Commission's prevention focus is on reducing the drug and alcohol abuse patterns of young people in the two county area through education and in promoting healthy alcohol, tobacco and other drug free alternative recreational activities. The purpose of the Commission is to assess needs, plan and develop, coordinate programming to meet these drug and alcohol service needs and then monitoring and review of these interventions, Specifically, prevention, intervention, treatment and case management are targeted. |
