Underage Drinking Initiative

The Armstrong-Indiana-Clarion Drug and Alcohol Commission, Inc. was awarded the STOP (Sober Truth On Preventing) Underage Drinking Act grant as part of a federal program to combat underage drinking.  The Drug Free Communities Coalition supports the goals of the STOP Act.

Part of our mission is to develop and implement a plan to mitigate the negative effects of underage drinking on our youth and community.

Partnering with the Drug Free Communities Coalition is a large part of making this goal a reality.

Our Goals

Reduce the high rate of underage drinking & drinking and driving among youth

- Formed the Underage Drinking Task Force through the Armstrong and Indiana County District Attorney's Offices

- Conduct training for police officers related to underage drinking and driving enforcement

- Implement Class Action curriculum in the high schools

- Implement Alcohol & Driving curriculum in the high schools

- Work with local high school SADD clubs in the high schools
